This project challenged me to think strategically about how to connect with an audience, tell a meaningful story, and market a city—specifically crafting a bid to bring the AORN convention to Houston. For the Houston First initiative, I designed a bid book that highlighted the city’s attractions, food, and culture, while taking a mental health and wellness approach tailored to perioperative nurses. To support that theme, I created a custom blanket and a roll-out tool kit filled with self-care items like eye patches, chapstick, socks, a pen and notepad, lotion, and a coffee cup holder. These thoughtful touches helped turn the proposal into a more personal, memorable experience. This project deepened my understanding of visual storytelling and how to design with the audience’s needs at the center.
